Hair Extensions for Alopecia.
Hair extensions are a great option for people experiencing hair loss due to alopecia. Whether you have alopecia areata, traction alopecia, or thin hair, extensions may help cover bald patches and add volume and length to your existing hair. These extensions are designed to work with your own hair, providing a natural look and boosting self-esteem.
There are various types of hair extensions to suit different needs for natural hair. Clip-in extensions are ideal for temporary use, while tape-ins and micro rings offer a more permanent, virtually undetectable solution for hair loss. Hair systems and custom-made extensions can be tailored to cover larger areas of bald spots or fine hair. For a natural appearance, high-quality human hair extensions are a popular choice.
Proper care is essential for maintaining the quality of your hair extensions. Use a wide-tooth comb to avoid damaging the extensions and schedule regular maintenance appointments with a hair stylist. If you experience scalp irritation, consult a medical professional to ensure the extensions are safe for your hair follicles.
Hair extensions can provide a transformative solution to hair loss. They help enhance hair volume and length, improve self-esteem, and offer a non-surgical alternative to regain confidence. Extensions are generally safe when applied correctly and maintained with proper care. Choosing the right hair extension method can make all the difference in achieving the perfect look.

How long do clip-in hair extensions last?
With regular wear and proper care, a set of our 100% human hair clip-ins lasts 6–12 months. Lifespan depends on how often you wear them, how much heat styling you use, and whether you wash them with sulfate-free products. Worn occasionally and stored flat, they can last well over a year.
Can clip-in hair extensions damage your natural hair?
No - clip-in hair extensions are one of the gentlest ways to wear extensions because they use no heat, no glue, and no chemicals. The clips sit flat against the scalp and come out each night. The only way they cause damage is if they’re worn too tight, or slept in. Rotate the placement slightly each time and you’ll keep your natural hair completely healthy.
Can you sleep, shower, or swim in clip-in hair extensions?
We don’t recommend any of the three. Sleeping in clip-ins tangles both the extensions and your natural hair. Showering or swimming in them soaks the clips (which can rust over time) and the wefts (which can slip). Take them out beforehand and store them flat in a box or on a hanger - they’ll last much longer.

Are clip-in hair extensions safe for fine or thin hair?
Yes, as long as you pick the right weight. For fine or thin hair, go with our seamless clip-in hair extensions - the 50% thinner silicone base lies flat on your head, so the wefts and clips stay virtually undetectable.
Stick to the lighter Classic option (100–140g) rather than Extra Volume sets, which need more natural hair to hide under.
Will clip-in hair extensions set off airport metal detectors?
No. The metal in clip-in wefts is too small to trigger a standard airport metal detector or body scanner. You can fly with them in or in your carry-on without any issues.
How to match the color to my hair?
Every set ships with a free tester weft so you can confirm the match before applying the full set. For a recommendation upfront, take a photo of your hair in natural daylight (no filters) and send it to our color team through the chat icon - we’ll come back within 24 hours. You can also take our hair quiz or browse by shade family: blonde, brown, black, or balayage.
How do you put clip-in hair extensions in?
Start at the nape of your neck. Section your hair horizontally, tease the roots slightly for grip, and clip the widest wefts (usually 3- and 4-clip) at the bottom. Add smaller wefts as you move up toward your ears. Leave the top section loose to cover the clips. Finish by brushing everything together and styling as one. Under five minutes once you’ve done it twice.
Can you heat-style and dye clip-in hair extensions?
Yes - because our extensions are 100% natural human hair, you can curl, straighten, and blow-dry them just like your own hair. Use a heat protectant and keep iron temperature up to 250F/120C to preserve the cuticle. You can also dye them (darker only - avoid bleach), and we recommend a strand test first.
What are clip-in hair extensions?
Clip-in hair extensions are wefts of real human hair attached to small clips you snap into your own hair. They add instant length, volume, or color without heat, glue, or chemicals, and you take them out at the end of the day.
A full set goes in under 10 minutes once you've practiced, lasts 6–12 months with proper care, and works on any hair type or texture.
